My Husband-Don

This is a poem I wrote a few years back about my wonderful husband, Don.
MY HUSBAND-DON
So quiet, reserved, what is he thinking?
The thoughts go deep-never without a reason
His answers come slowly-deliberately.
The mind is always churning
Whirling like a tornado with things to be done.
Which will it throw out first?
So serious-in another place.
Where I am not allowed to go right now.
Shut off from the noise around him.
I catch his eye and he give me that killer smile.
"What?" he says with a chuckle.
"Nothing," I reply, just happy that he is home.
Soon he returns to our world
And is showing his wit and humor.
Teasing, laughing, enjoying life.
Such a leader in our home,
A wonderful father and husband.
Loving, kind, and fair.
Always looking out for his family.
Doing the best he can.
Wanting the best for us.
Hard working, diligent,
A just and fair boss.
Looking out for his employees.
Trustworthy and loyal.
A true friend indeed.
You can count on him.
Environmentalist, protector of land.
Leading the way.
Humble.
My love for him will never fade.
He is my protector, confidant, friend.
He belongs to me and I to him.
Unique.
Quirky.
Mine.

The Love of My Life

I just really love where my life is right now. Each day I draw closer to God and it's only through the circumstances He has allowed that I reached this pinacle. My husband is the sweetest man I know and I love him with all my heart. The changes in him have been most amazing and I can't wait to see what God has in store for him. All throughout my battle with colon cancer these past 3 years, he has been a constant source of encouragement to me. He pushed me when I was ready to give up. He has stood by me in the bad times and embraces me in the great times. Each day I love him more and more as I see him emerging from his coccoon, drying off his wings and getting ready to take flight into an exciting, new world with me.

God is good

Wow! Never thought I'd be a blogger! This is fun.

I am a nature lover....I'd much rather be outside enjoying God's creation than being cooped up inside...my cluttered home can attest to that!

Don't you just marvel at the wondrous works of God? Each and every day is a new adventure in our lives and He adds to that by surprising us with beautiful sunrises, soft, fluffy clouds, gray skies or blue skies, clear or rainy. We never know what to expect but it's all good. Each day should be fully embraced by us and we need to savor every drop we are given.
